Hallucination

In image generation, hallucination is the model inventing details that do not hold up: six-fingered hands, architecture that does not connect, unreadable lettering, impossible shadows.

The cause is that the model does not understand objects — it has learned statistical patterns. It knows the concept "hand" but not the rule that a hand has five fingers.

The latest generation of models (Flux in particular) improved markedly on hands and faces, but text and complex mechanical structures remain a problem. Always zoom in and inspect before commercial use.
