Upscale
Short answer
Increasing an image's resolution by using AI to fill in the missing detail.
Classic upscaling copies pixels and the image blurs. AI upscaling predicts and generates the missing detail, so the result stays sharp.
It is mandatory for print: AI tools usually generate 1024 to 2048 pixels, while A3 at 300 DPI wants roughly 3500×4900.
Its limit: upscaling invents detail that was never there. On faces and text that invention becomes visible; always inspect at one hundred per cent zoom afterwards.
